Growing Together, Nurturing Futures
in South St. Louis

The Carondelet Food Patch offers a vibrant, sustainable space that empowers local residents in South St. Louis, Missouri, to grow their own fresh, nutritious food while fostering stronger connections within the community. By transforming vacant lots into green spaces, we provide access to healthy produce and reduce food insecurity, especially for families who may not have easy access to fresh groceries.

Our garden is more than just a place to plant—it’s a hub for education, personal empowerment, environmental stewardship, and neighborhood beautification. Works of public art at the Food Patch include a mural with native flowers and pollinators, and a statue at the entrance donated by artist Hans Droog. In addition, the vacant problem property next to the Food Patch has been acquired and will be renovated to be put to a better use for the orchard and surrounding neighborhood.

By engaging with the Carondelet Food Patch, you’re not just planting seeds—you’re planting hope, opportunity, and positive change for generations to come.
